Architect
An architect works with a team of designers to draw building plans and oversee the construction of the planned structure. Applicants need to be skilled in the areas of art, engineering and construction. They need to have management and leadership skills in order to work with their team.
Communication and interpersonal skills are essential in order to work with clients, contractors and suppliers. It is necessary to work within a budget and to ensure that the design for the building adheres to these costs.
Candidates should have a minimum education of a bachelor’s degree in architecture and a master’s degree is beneficial. They are required to obtain a license by successfully completing the Architect Registration Examination.
Students need to complete an internship before they can qualify and start working. Architects can have their own business or seek employment from a larger company. Salaries generally range from C

$60 000 per year.
