Coach

Coaches help individuals and teams realize their sporting potential. The work is predominantly in schools or for youth teams, conducting practice sessions, monitoring individual’s progress and leading teams or athletes into competitive matches or tournaments. Nowadays, most people holding such a position are required to have some form of NCCP certification whatever level they participate in.
The duties as a coach are to conduct training sessions to improve the ability of the athletes involved and to prepare them for competition. The coach must keep abreast of modern coaching techniques in which the safety of the athletes is the primary concern. It helps to be trained in first-aid. The job holder must be able to plan tactics and select individuals to participate competitively.
The job holder should have a strong personality and a desire to help people, especially young people. They should be a role model for the athletes. If coaching in a school setting, it is important for the job holder to ensure the athletes' grades are of a high standard.
Salaries for this position can top C
$50,000, and some renowned coaches can make a lot more at college level. However, most holders of the position work as teachers at the school they coach at, or have another job in order to supplement their income.
