Did you ever worked in a factory? Elijah Last updated by Simon: 31-Jan-2017
I don’t have experience and I’d like to work as a factory worker plus I know a friend working in a factory and he told me they are looking for people and that I should apply. But I read reviews about people complaining about working as factory workers, they say it’s not a job for everyone like it’s not that easy, tiring, boring ... Do you ever worked as a factory worker? What are the major skills someone with no experience should know about?

Thanks!-
Brooke:
Hello! To be honest I’ve been in this field since for about 20 years and not much has changed. Some of the most required skills by most of factories are related to coordination, like manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination… You should be able to lift some weight; this depends on the product but about 20-50lbs minimum. But what you should keep in mind before taking a job like this is that you are NOT GOING TO SEAT. You’ll be standing for long periods of time executing repetitive tasks. If you are aware of these and sounds like something you could enjoy go ahead

Hi , I’m also a Factory worker in Canada and to be honest the only thing I dislike is the fact that you work shifts. Night shifts are the worst.
