Individuals who have worked in the IT field of Geographic Information Systems (Gis) are highly regarded for their experience in producing digital maps, spatial information and software for user-driven queries. Gis developers and analysts who have worked in defence, transport planning or environmental areas have a specific skill to offer prospective employers.
Dependant on the particular nature of their employer’s business, developers in the field are expected to have skills in uploading GNSS or GPS information onto websites and other IT media. Applicants may also have used applications such as GeoBase and GeognoSIS to publish geographic images and data.
