This varied work involves a number of different duties at every stage of the recruitment process, from writing job descriptions to pre-screening candidates. Those working as a recruitment consultant must therefore be proactive and independent workers with the ability to use their own initiative. An aptitude for sales is also important, as the work may involve cold-calling local employers in order to generate new business.
These people usually work for agencies, who may require a Bachelors degree or diploma in a business-related subject, as well as relevant experience in either a recruitment or sales environment. Salaries start at around C
