Office

General office workers or clerks must be focused individuals who can prioritise their workload. It is a job that requires a minimum of a high school diploma, while those with further diplomas in office administration will be more sought after, as will those with excellent computer skills. Usually, the employee will be trained on the job. The duties for this position are varied. The role usually involves a mixture of administration, accountancy and logistical work. The individual will dedicate their time to recording the company’s data and files, dealing with office correspondence, and preparing meeting agendas and minutes.
It is normal to arrange travel for office personnel in this role. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining office inventory such as stationary, and there is a small amount of bookkeeping sometimes required. The candidate might also be asked to answer phones and meet and greet clients.
A keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic and good communication skills are required. The average salary for this role is C
$30,000 per year.
