Quality Control

Working in quality control requires a high level of attention to detail, as the person in charge is not only responsible for making sure that manufactured goods are produced to the highest possible standard, but is also for the company’s image. Managers will be required to know every step of the manufacturing process to ensure that the goods being produced are faultless.
Social skills are also essential, as the job requires interaction and cooperation with staff along the production line. Problem solving skills are also needed, as is knowledge of health and safety regulations.
An Honours degree in a subject such as science and technology, business studies or process engineering is usually a prerequisite for the role. Employers will often look for previous experience, and knowledge of IT systems is important.
Other duties in quality control include keeping detailed records and coming up with ways of improving performance within a company. The inspector will also often work closely with sales and marketing teams and directly with clients to explain technical issues. The average salary is C
$65,000 per year.
