An individual working in telesales should be positive and passionate, while possessing excellent oral and written skills and an outgoing, confident personality. Much of the contact work is done via the telephone, where the worker must attempt to persuade clients to purchase company products and services.
Daily activities may include describing the benefits of the company product, presenting special offers, collecting client information and documenting it, and taking orders and arranging deliveries. Responsibilities can include identifying sales opportunities, maintaining follow-up procedures, creating a prospective customers database, and seeking out income-generating opportunities to hit company targets.
A successful representative must have a well-rounded understanding of the particular services and products being offered. The job holder should enjoy working with customers and developing healthy relationships. It is important to be perseverance but also to respect the customer’s final response.
A telesales worker does not require a specific education level for the role.
