A vice president (VP) acts as a general manager and must effectively direct all aspects of a business. These individuals must oversee the work of all employees, including the managers of the company. The company's profitability is their main priority, and they are expected to enforce goals and strategies while ensuring that employee morale stays high.
Candidates must be experts marketing, sales, and management. They should demonstrate supreme confidence and assertiveness, while showing persistence and passion about the industry. Mental acumen is necessary for making quick decisions and working with numbers, and the ideal candidates should be expert problem-solvers and highly organised.
Most VP’s have at least ten years’ experience of successful leadership at the lower tiers of a company, and nearly all possess at least a Bachelors degree in business administration or marketing. Along with basic computer skills, the candidate should also demonstrate exceptional communication and persuasion skills. This position pays quite well, normally between C
$118,000 and C
$238,000 per year.
